Being a carer can sometimes feel like a full time job and it’s important to take a break every now and then. Our adult day care centre provides specialist full and half-day respite care for those with memory loss, confusion or early onset dementia – you could be looking after a friend or relative who is frail, has recently suffered a stroke or has Parkinson’s.
What is Adult Day Care?
Adult Day Care allows you to take a short break from caring which is essential for you to recharge and catch up with day to day tasks – this could be spending more time with your family, going to work, doing the shopping or just catching up with friends. We provide
- Full or half day respite care
- Person centred care
- Support with medication
- Friendly advice and support
- Dementia friendly environment
- Social activities and exercises
- Memory, music and pet therapy
- Arts, crafts and games
A new experience for your loved one
Taking a break from caring also means that the person you are looking after is able to enjoy new experiences, have a change of scene and mix with other people. We run a range of activities, exercise classes and therapy sessions to help grow confidence, encourage social interaction and build muscle strength.
Additional support
Adult Day Care clients can also access a number of additional facilities at the Community & Wellbeing Centre including our assisted bathing room, hairdressing suite, shopping service, laundry and foot clinic.
Getting to and from the centre is easy with our Transport from Home service. All our vehicles are wheelchair accessible and driven by an experienced and friendly DBS-checked team.
